Innovation Beauty Story

 

The first Innovation Beauty salon opened in Northampton in 2015.  A few years later, in 2018, equipped with expert knowledge and a passion for beauty culture, we launched the UK's first Innovation Beauty Academy.  We have devoted ourselves to developing a strong and innovative brand to serve our growing customer base.  Today, we have 10 educators delivering our training courses.  Courses are delivered, both in-person and internationally, via our online platform.   Such is our success that our courses are now translated into multiple languages to service students around the world.



We work alongside leading stylists who are at the forefront of beauty innovation.  Maintaining a close relationship with our stylists is important to us and them, even after they move on!  In fact, one of our former employees inspired our latest venture, when upon opening her own beauty salon, she ran into a few challenges.  

 

Challenges for stylists

 

Like many other stylists, our good friend and former employee discovered that running a business can be challenging.  One of the biggest issues she faced was ordering supplies.  Obtaining the stock she wanted, involved trawling through many websites and catalogues and placing orders in various places online and on the phone.  Then came the deliveries!  As orders were placed with a variety of suppliers, deliveries were troublesome to sort out.  The process involved unpacking numerous boxes, matching up mountains of paperwork, chasing up shortages with various suppliers and lots of long long nights!  The process was time consuming, disorganised, costly - but most of all, frustrating!

 

This inspired us to conduct some research and come up with a solution to help our stylists do less of what they loathed (admin) and more of what they love - beautifying! 

 

During our research of the ordering process, we found that:

 

- Stylists spend an excessive amount of time placing orders individually across separate pages. 

- They need to pay delivery fees on each page

- They need to use and enter the credit/debit card details on each website separately 

- They have no tracking visibility, so they can not see if the order is delivered or in transit. 

 

After identifying the issues, we came up with a one-stop-shop solution to help our friend (who has now been successfully operating for 3 years - hooray!) as well as other stylists around the world!
